My final career project is an AI system which models a universe with AI actors living on it, connecting to a world server much like MMORPGs. I did the base design for the world properties, a simple server, and a simple protocol for the clients to connect to the server, and now I'm doing a graphics renderer that will connect to the server to show what's going on using SNES RPG-like graphics (see Tales of Phantasia, for example). I take the world, which is 3D, load sprites (drawings) of every object seen by each side (4 sides), and place them appropiately on screen. Out of this renderer, I did the system that loads sprites and animations (which are stored in single PNG files ("spritesets") and text files (instructions to animate it)), basic window control (options, resize, full screen), and a system which few games have which acts as a resource broker: every time I need a resource, like a sprite for an object, I request it by its code. If it has been loaded, then I get it, otherwise they system automatically loads it on the fly (and the resource is shared among any part of the program requesting the same object). This means there's no "loading" screens and I only use the memory I need. It'll also ignore errors (like missing sprites) and draw empty objects, without crashing the system.

From what ive seen of the gameplay and graphics, WoW does not need a sequel, and probably wont get one for the next 5 years or more. Watch out for the officially (anbd recently) announced expansion though.

Indeed no need for a 2nd WoW. Blizz has still lot to do with the 1st [img]tongue.gif[/img] For example balancing the talents. Currently going to bad ASA I finished posting =P
